Weekend... come back! {Please}

Happy Monday from me and my little bff...
Our weekend seemed to fly by despite its slow pace. It was wonderful. On Friday night we had a get together with our small group from church. It was supposed to be an outdoor thing at our new church property but the cold and rain made for changed plans. A wonderful lady, Tawnya, in our group offered up her home and it was great. The guys got to watch the Cards game and we ate delicious soups (um... pretty sure I am still dreaming about Tawnya's chicken fajita soup... I might have had 2 huge bowls of it) and played games. It was so much fun. I love our small group!

Saturday morning Max had a soccer game but it was super cold. He basically refused to play the whole game (awesome) so the little kiddos and I left at half time. We spent the rest of the day hanging around the house. I made some amazing Cranapple Turkey Wraps for lunch, apple butter, my favorite Sweet Potato Chili, and apple crisp. It was the perfect kind of fall day!

Yesterday we went to church (an awesome message! Listen to it here) and then headed home. In the evening we celebrated Max's birthday with my parents and grandma. We went to Red Lobster for dinner (Max's choice) and then went back to Grandma June's for cake and ice-cream. Then we made a quick run to Target with my parents to exchange some boots my mom got Sophie and so Max could use his birthday money from Grandma June to pick a toy. Max kept telling me it was the "best birthday" he has ever had!

I will say that the ONLY good thing about the weekend being over is that tomorrow is our big ultrasound! We have decided to go ahead and find out the gender and I am really excited! There were a lot of factors that went into that decision and I feel total peace about it!

I thought I would leave you with some Instagram pics from the last week.

Sister Bear "helped" me make brownies

We love our Scout

We made it to the end of the trail at Fantastic Caverns

Sophie holding 2 caterpillars she found at big cedar. She loves bugs!

Me at 19 1/2 weeks

Amazing sweet potato chili in the crock pot

Is there anything better than a fire with these cooler temps?

I added some apple butter to my pancakes Sunday morning. YES!

I got some new make-up and hair products this week and it made getting ready for church on Sunday very exciting!

P.S. I really need a new book to read! I really love to read Christian non-fiction more than anything. Anything on womanhood, parenting, marriage, etc. Does anyone have any recommendations? I recently finished 7 by Jen Hatmaker and absolutely adored it! What have you all been reading?

InstaFriday {week 3}

Yay!  Time again for Instagram pics! I love recapping my week with these pics.

Last Saturday we had friends over for dinner. I asked Max to wipe down the dining room table. He chose his own method of doing so...
 I was rocking my apron as I was making dinner and feeling quite Suzy Homemaker. Maybe if I wore an apron all the time I would be more productive?
 It is a little hard to tell but Nick and I were cracking up about Max's hands. They are always covered in marker because Max colors pictures all day long.
 I love this picture because it is just SO Sophie! She is always in costume and being silly. I just love her so much.
 Jack got Scout's dog bed out of his kennel and then proceeded to terrorize our poor pup by laying in his bed.
 I decided to read the chapter of Proverbs that corresponds with the day of the month in addition to my Bible in a year plan this month. I love the book of Proverbs so much.
Some good friends of ours introduced us to this game and now I am mildly addicted. Nick ran to the store the other day and I asked him to pick up a deck of these cards while he was there. I shouldn't brag but I totally won last night...

Happy Weekend!

InstaFriday {week 2}

Happy Friday everyone! I had such good intentions to blog more this week. Somehow we managed to keep super busy this week! It was all fun though! I am linking up again today here:
life rearranged
Max is getting so big these days. I think he is looking so grown-up.
The kiddos wanted to make a dog house with a box. Soph wanted to be the dog.
Scout got a major haircut and now looks half as big. Nick and my mom love his new do... I am not so sure...
Do you watch Downton Abbey? You should. I am watching Season 2 online now and it is so good!
Daddy and Sophie doing some reading.
I was really bored and started taking pictures of myself. This was the only one I took where it did not look like my nose was taking up my entire face!
Still working on the eating breakfast thing...
Someone is always in costume around here.
I am very thankful for modern day conveniences. I had the crockpot and the bread machine going.
The hubs picked up sushi for us last night. It was incredible.
I hope everyone has a great weekend!

InstaFriday

life rearranged

I thought this idea was just too cute to not join in! You post all of your cell phone pics for the week. Since we all know that I am retro and don't have a smart phone (or am totally jealous of everyone that has one and just trying to make myself sound better) I use my iPod music player and pretend to be cool. So, here are my Instagram (my name is KatieRamsey if you want to follow me there!) pics of this week.

Date night in with the hubby included Amis pizza and Breaking Dawn Part 1
 I am loving my new study Bible and my quiet times using my one year Bible reading plan have been great this week. I am not loving Numbers but getting to read Mark afterwards totally makes it all worth it.
 I got a new iron. Someone gave me a really hard time when she visited for not having one. So, now I guess I am supposed to make sure my husband's work shirts are ironed. Who knew being a wife would be so hard? ;)
 Scout likes to help me monitor bath time.
 And I need all the help I can get. Do you see what I have to deal with? Hehe.
 The kids and I made a little trip to Trader Joe's this week. I love that place and think St. Charles county needs one.
 Later that day I enjoyed a yummy tea I picked up at T.J.s. It is very yum.
 Scout looking thoughtful. I wonder what a dog thinks about?
 I captioned this on Facebook with "It is hard to be 1" Yep, I caught the little mister mid-tantrum.
 French toast for lunch. Why not?
 The hubs leading family worship. What can I say? I married a rock star.
 My new BFF Hannah. I got to hold and snuggle her last night at just an hour old. Let me just say, we bonded and I am in love.
I hope everyone has a great weekend!
